Boyd Andrew Community Services was awarded a contract with the State of Montana, Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) in 2008 to administer and manage a multi-level residential treatment system, the Residential Treatment Expansion Consortium (RTEC). Among other things, RTEC provides a long over due opportunity to bridge the treatment gap between DPHHS and the Department of Corrections (DOC) by providing a continuum of care for chemically dependent clients served by both Departments.

The consortium providing this system consists of six separate ‘state approved’ chemical dependency treatment programs working together under a unified administration. The treatment system represents state of the art in treatment technology and theory by providing treatment programming that combines nationally recognized American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) diagnostic criteria and Therapeutic Community Milieu with a variety of cognitive behavioral therapies that are gender and culturally specific.

RTEC offers inpatient treatment beds for men and women, detox/crisis stabilization services for both men and women who are referred into the RTEC system, and 5 recovery houses located throughout Montana. RTEC is committed to providing long term care to individuals with methamphetamine and other substance disorders. RTEC is able to offer a seamless continuum of care from detox/crisis stabilization services to inpatient treatment (ASAM 3.5) followed by recovery based support homes (ASAM 3.1).

The six consortium participating programs are:

Admission Process

All admissions are coordinated through Boyd Andrew Community Services. Admission to one of the RTEC programs will require the collaboration of the referring agency representative with a Licensed Addictions Counselor. Referrals to the programs must come from a State approved chemical dependency programs or a Montana State Licensed Addiction Counselor. Admission criteria will be based on ASAM placement criteria for the appropriate level of care. Send packets to:
