Elkhorn Treatment Center

A Facility for Female Offenders

A community corrections facility providing a therapeutic alternative to female offenders under the Custody of the Montana Department of Corrections (DOC).

Within a therapeutic milieu that is culturally sensitive and oriented to female offenders, treatment approaches are holistic in nature and focus on chemical dependency, management of acute and chronic illness, job skill development, and education.

Using established best practices, Elkhorn Treatment Center provides a state of the art therapeutic environment to support our residents in their change process.


Who is eligible:

  • DOC Commitments
  • Parole Violators
  • Conditional Release Violators
  • Montana Women’s Prison Inmates
  • Sanctioned Offenders

Offenders that can be accepted include:

  • Women convicted of a second or subsequent criminal possession of methamphetamine
  • Women in need of structured treatment of chronic methamphetamine abuse
  • Women in need of structured treatment for a stimulant use disorder that includes abuse of other amphetamines or cocaine
  • Women in need of structured treatment for any form of chemical dependency and treatable co-occurring mental illness.
